The Classic Mini , designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, was manufactured from 1959-2000, a whopping 41 years! Voted as one of the most influential cars of the 20th century, the classic Mini was as much at home on the city streets as it was on the Race and Rally courses.
Already an iconic vehicle, the Mini gained even more popularity when it featured in the film "The Italian Job" and was seen being driven by the likes of Steve McQueen, The Beatles, Twiggy and Enzo Ferrari, to name just a few. Attracting much attention over its lifespan, the Mini has gained a place in many of our hearts.
Of course, the amazing thing about the classic mini is that one day in Brighton 27 people managed to cram themselves into one -an astonishing world record when you consider its size!
