DIFFERENTIAL OVERHAUL KIT EARLY BEARING T0 APPROX 1993

This DIFFERENTIAL OVERHAUL Kit is suitable for early type 2 Pin Land Rover Diffs (i.e. Not Salisbury). .

Note there are two different side bearing types used in the Land Rover 2 pin Diffs, this kit is for the early bearing type fitted up to around 1992 and usually 10 Spline Shafts. Your vehicle may have had a recon Diff fitted or an Axle change at some point in it's life so you should not always rely upon age or Axle number.

If you already have the Diff Stripped you can identify the type from Side Bearing internal diameter. Early Imperial types (This Kit) have an ID of 41,3 mm, Bearing number is LM501349 / LM501310 (later Diff diff side bearing is 45,2mm Bore).

The later bearing is also found in "Metric" Diffs so you may also be able to identify by checking the 4 large journal end cap bolts. Metric bolts should have '8.8' stamped on the head.

This early kit was used in:-

  • Series 109 V8
  • Defender Up to 1992 up to VIN Number KA930455
  • Discovery 1 up to VIN Number KA930455
  • Range Rover Classic KA637567

Your vehicle may have had a recon Diff fitted or an Axle change at some point so please check your side bearing sizes / bearing number if possible before ordering. This kit is NOT suitable for 4 Pin diffs or Salisbury Axles.

The Kit Contains :-

  • Pinion Head & Tail Bearings
  • Side Bearings Pair
  • Gasket
  • 2 Oil Seals & Mud Shields to cover both possible types fitted
